Our Life Team and staff work so hard throughout the year to make sure we have church every Sunday. That’s why the Sunday after Christmas is Sabbath Sunday. This Christmas, we have a wonderful opportunity to bless families in our community through Zao Angels. Each angel tag represents a child and a gift they are hoping to receive. Simply grab an angel, purchase the gift, and bring it back to the church. Together, we can show the love of Jesus in a meaningful way by blessing children this Christmas. You can grab an angel tag this Sunday on the Christmas tree located by next steps tent, please be sure to return all gift items by December 14th. Please place the items in a gift bag or leave them unwrapped, making sure the angel tag is attached. Kindly avoid wrapping them in a sealed box with wrapping paper.

Gratitude isn’t just a feeling — it’s a perspective, a posture, a discipline that shapes everything you do. And biblically, gratitude isn’t optional or reserved for “positive people” or “easy seasons.” Scripture says it plainly: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) God never said to give thanks for all circumstances… but in all circumstances. Because gratitude isn’t pretending everything is perfect — it’s choosing to see God’s goodness even when everything isn’t. A grateful heart leads to a joyful life — the kind of joy that’s real, lasting, and untouchable by circumstances, opinions, emotions, or people. And in a world full of complaining, comparing, and criticizing, this season calls us back to what Scripture has said all along: Give thanks in all circumstances. Thanksgiving shouldn’t be something we celebrate once a year — it should be something people see in us all year long. So this season, we recalibrate our hearts and pray, “Lord, teach me to live grateful — not just when life feels good, but because You are good.” Because gratitude doesn’t start when your situation changes…Gratitude starts when your perspective changes. And here’s the truth Scripture reminds us of: sometimes the greatest blessings come wrapped in burdens. Just like the donkey in Matthew 21 — common, unnoticed, unimpressive — yet chosen to carry the glory of God into the city. If God can use a burden-bearing donkey to usher in the Savior, He can use the burdens in your life to usher in His blessing too. Jesus Himself carried the greatest burden — the cross — because He saw the blessing on the other side: “For the joy set before him, he endured the cross…” — Hebrews 12:2 And you were that joy. Your salvation. Your freedom. Your relationship with Him. He endured the burden because the blessing was worth it. This Thanksgiving, may we see our lives, our blessings, and even our burdens through the lens of gratitude. Because God is working — in every season, in every circumstance, in every step. Happy Thanksgiving. 🧡🍂
